Over 2.05 million part of the total workforce population in Davao Region Davao Region's total population 15 years old and over for year 2020 was at 3.56 million. Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) during this period was at 57.5 percent, accounting for 2.05 million economically active Davaoeños (see Table 1). Php 11,103 needed to stay out of poverty For the first half of 2021, a family of five in Davao Region needed at least Php 11,103 to be able to meet both basic food and non-food needs in a month. This is an increase of 4.8 percent from the poverty threshold posted in the same period in 2018, which was estimated at Php 10,598. At the national level, the monthly threshold was around at Php 12,082, on the average, which is 979 pesos higher than the region’s estimated threshold. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Regional Statistical Services Office XI announces the conduct of the Regional Data Dissemination Forum on 2021 First Semester Poverty Statistics and 2018-2020 Annual Labor Force Survey Results on 28 February 2022, Monday at 9:00AM through a video conference using Zoom and Facebook Live (https://www.facebook.com/PSADavaoRegion). PSA XI Regional Director Ruben D. Abaro, Jr. will be the resource person for the event. Highlights of the press conference will be tweeted live all throughout the duration of the press conference through the PSA RSSO XI official Twitter account @PSA11govph, and will be livestreamed in the PSA office Facebook page. The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) – Davao Region celebrates the 32nd Civil Registration Month. This annual celebration is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 682, signed by then President Corazon Aquino on 28 January 1991, stating that Civil Registration Month is observed every February. The annual celebration is being done to make the citizenry aware of the importance of civil registration. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office XI, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), will conduct the first national 2022 Women and ICT Development Index (WIDI) Survey. The enumeration will be conducted for 24 days from 31 January to 26 February 2022 in all provinces of the Region. This survey aims to gather baseline data on women and ICT that will capture the situation of women focusing on aspects of the Digital Economy, ICT Access, and ICT Usage. The year-on-year regional inflation of Davao Region eased to 6.1 percent in December 2021, from 6.2 percent in November 2021. It was substantially higher as compared from the same month of the previous year at 1.3 percent. On the other hand, the Purchasing Power of the Peso (PPP), which measures the real value of the peso in a given period relative to a chosen reference period, remained at 76 centavos (see Table 1).
