The economy of Davao Region grew by 5.9 percent in 2021, as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and Gross Regional Domestic Expenditure (GRDE). It was valued at 882.0 billion pesos in 2021 from about 833.2 billion pesos in 2020, an estimated increase of 48.8 billion pesos comparing the two periods. However, the level is still short of 18.5 billion pesos compared level recorded in 2019. All the 16 major sub-industries of GRDP posted positive growths in 2021. he Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Regional Statistical Services Office XI announces the conduct of News Conference on the 2021 Economic Performance of Davao Region on 28 April 2022 (Thursday) at 10:00 a.m. at the Acacia Hotel Lanang, Davao City. A total of 78,461 live births was registered in Davao Region in 2020 which is equivalent to a crude birth rate (CBR) of 14.8 or 15 births per thousand population. On the average, there were about 214 registered babies born daily or 9 babies per hour. The number of registered live births from 2010 to 2016 showed an increasing trend, except in the year 2013. The number of marriages in Davao Region dropped by 38.1 percent in year 2020. Data showed a decreasing trend from 2010 to 2016 and increasing from 2016 to 2018. From 2018 to 2019, it decreased by 5.9 percent. (Table 1 and Figure 1). In 2020, Davao Region recorded a total of 13,566 registered marriages. Most number of marriages in 2020 occurred in December with 1,905 (14.0% of the total marriages in the region). The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office XI, Philippine Identification System Registration Centers is now accomodating children and teenagers that ranges from the ages of five (5) to seventeen (17) years old as registrants for Philippine Identification Card. Parents may register their children and teenagers at the PSA Fixed Registration Center located at the PSA Ango Building, Cabaguio Avenue, Davao City for their biometric information (i.e., finger print, iris scan and front facing imagine). They may also register through the PhilSys mobile registration in the various barangays around the region. In line with this, Davao City CRS Outlet is open on Saturday, 19 March 2022 and will only serve clients with prior appointment requesting for manual authentication and copy issuance of Civil Registry Documents (Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates) and certifications (Negative Certification, Certificate of No Record of Marriage or CRS Form No. 4 – CENOMAR and CRS Form No. 5 – Advisory on Marriages). All clients including frontliners and those with emergency and urgent request must present their appointment slip from the online appointment system with a valid proof of emergency/urgency.
