The Philippine Statistical System (PSS), through the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), issues the 16th National Convention on Statistics (NCS) Bulletin No. 1 – Call for Papers. The 16th NCS, which will be held from 01 to 03 October 2025, will feature plenary sessions, invited/contributed paper sessions, poster sessions, statistical trainings, and the Statistical Information Management Exhibit (SIMEx).

Statisticians, statistical practitioners, researchers, members of the academe, students, representatives from the media, and other partners from both the government and private sectors, will once again gather for this triennial event which aims to: 1) provide a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences in the field of statistics and for discussing recent statistical developments and prevailing issues and problems of the PSS; and 2) elicit the cooperation and support of statisticians and professionals in related fields from the government, academe, and private sector towards a more responsive statistical system.

The 16th NCS will coincide with the Opening Ceremony of the 36th National Statistics Month which will be held on 01 October 2025. The 36th NSM and 16th NCS share the theme, “Accelerating the SDG Pace of Progress: Mobilizing Data for All,” which emphasizes the crucial role of data in assessing the country’s progress in achieving SDG targets; in identifying fast as well as slow-moving targets; and in providing sound bases for the crafting of programs and interventions for targets where these are most needed.
