Over 2.31 million part of the total workforce population in Davao Region Davao Region's total population 15 years old and over for October 2022 was estimated at 3.72 million. Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) during this period was at 62.1 percent, accounting for 2.31 million Davaoeños (see Table 1). The year-on-year inflation of Davao Region moved upward to 9.4 percent in January 2023, from 9.3 percent in December 2022. This is the fourth-highest recorded inflation since January 2022. In January 2022, the region’s inflation stood at 5.1 percent (Table 1 and Figure 1). Purchasing Power of the Peso (PPP) measures the real value of the Philippine peso in a given period relative to its value in the base period. In Davao Region, a peso in 2018 is worth 82 centavos in January 2023. This month’s PPP is lower than in January 2022 at 90 centavos. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) celebrates another landmark in the national ID implementation as it hits 10 million ePhilIDs issued to Filipinos. A total of 10,126,352 ePhilIDs have been claimed at Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration centers nationwide as of 19 December 2022. “We launched the ePhilID just two months ago. Reaching the 10 million mark this fast in the implementation is, indeed, a major milestone. This only shows how ready we Filipinos are for PhilSys as a digital ID. The year-on-year inflation of Davao Region declined to 9.7 percent in November 2022, from 9.8 percent in October 2022. This is the second highest recorded inflation since January 2022. The average inflation for the first eleven months of the year stood at 7.3 percent. (Table 1 and Figure 1). Purchasing Power of the Peso (PPP) measures the real value of the Philippine peso in a given period relative to its value in the base period. In Davao Region, a peso in 2018 is worth 84 centavos in November 2022. This month’s PPP is lower than in November 2021 at 92 centavos. The year-on-year inflation of Davao Region continued its increasing trend moving further up to 9.8 percent in October 2022, from 9.6 percent in September 2022. This is the highest recorded inflation since January 2022. The average inflation for the first ten months of the year stood at 7.0 percent.
