Volume of Other Crops Production Survey increased by 0.50 percent in 4th Quarter 2024
The Other Crops production of Davao Occidental for the Fourth Quarter of 2024 was estimated at 192,746.23 MT; an increase of 0.5 percent compared to same period in 2023 estimated at 191,792.61 MT.
Non-Food Industrial Crops (NFICs) recorded a 0.9 percent increase in production. Meanwhile, both Fruit Crops and Vegetables and Root Crops recorded decreases in production, by 0.4 percent and 2.0 percent respectively, compared to the same period last year, as shown in Table 1.


As shown in Figure 1, NFICs accounted for 72.6 percent of the total crops production of Davao Occidental in Fourth Quarter 2024. Meanwhile, fruitcrops accounted for 26.7 percent and vegetables and rootcrops accounted for 0.7 percent.
Coconut matured tops production in the province in 4th quarter 2024
Total coconut production of Davao Occidental increased by 0.8 percent or 137,141.20 MT in Fourth Quarter 2024 compared to last year same period estimated at 136,003.82 MT.

Coconut matured estimated at 136,500.08 MT or 99.5 percent of the total coconut production of Davao Occidental in Fourth Quarter 2024. This is an increase of 0.8 percent compared to last year same period estimated at 135,363.83 MT as shown in Figure 2. Meanwhile, coconut young accounted for the remaining 0.5 percent or 641.12 MT of the total coconut production of Davao Occidental in Fourth Quarter 2024.
Abaca (dried raw fiber) decreased by 0.3 percent
Abaca (dried raw fiber) estimated at 828.98 MT of total production of Davao Occidental in Fourth Quarter 2024. This is a decrease of 0.3 percent compared to last year same period estimated at 831.68 MT as shown in Figure 3.

Cacao (dried beans with pulp) production decreased by 0.9 percent
Cacao (dried beans with pulp) estimated at 232.65 MT of total production of Davao Occidental in Fourth Quarter 2024. This is a decrease of 0.9 percent compared to last year same period estimated at 234.82 MT as shown in Figure 4.

Saba Variety Leads Banana Production in Province in Q4 2024
Total banana production of Davao Occidental decreased by 0.4 percent or 50,522.24 MT in Fourth Quarter 2024 compared to last year same period estimated at 50,710.96 MT.
Banana Saba accounted for 77.5 percent or 39,151.95 MT of the total banana production of Davao Occidental in Fourth Quarter 2024. This is a decrease of 0.3 percent compared to last year same period estimated at 39,276.80 MT as shown in Figure 5. Meanwhile, varieties such as Cavendish, Latundan, and Lakatan, accounted for 13.8 percent, 6.5 percent, and 1.7 percent respectively as shown in Figure 6.

Cassava production decreased by 3.9 percent
Total casava fresh tubers production of Davao Occidental decreased by 3.9 percent or 512.92 MT in Fourth Quarter 2024 compared to last year same period estimated at 533.91 MT.
Cassava for industrial use, estimated at 318.87 MT or 62.2 percent of the total Cassava production of Davao Occidental in Fourth Quarter 2024. This is a decrease of 5.0 percent compared to last year same period estimated at 335.65 MT as shown in figure 7. Meanwhile the cassava for food estimated at 194.05 MT or 37.8 percent of the total cassava production of Davao Occidental in Fourth Quarter 2024. This is a decrease of 2.1 percent compared last year same period estimated at 198.26 MT.

Eggplant production increased by 0.4 percent
Eggplant estimated at 44.08 MT of total production of Davao Occidental in Fourth Quarter 2024. This is an increase of 0.4 percent compared to last year same period estimated at 43.89 MT as shown in Figure 8.

TECHNICAL NOTES
The CrPS is a quarterly survey which aims to generate basic production statistics for crops other than palay and corn at the national and sub-national levels. Nineteen major crops under the other Crops sub-sector are highlighted in the Performance of Philippine Agriculture Report (PAR).
The CrPS covers more than 280 crops sub-classified under three commodity groupings, namely: 1) Non-Food and Industrial Crops, 2) Fruit Crops, and 3) Vegetables and Rootcrops.
For the purpose of this survey, crop production is defined as the quantity produced and actually harvested for a particular crop during the reference period. It includes those measured but damaged, stolen, given away, consumed, given as harvesters’ share, and reserved. Excluded are those produced but not harvested for whatever reason/s.
