The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) Davao de Oro convened last 29 September 2022 at Nabunturan for CY 2022 Third Regular Meeting with ten member agencies in attendance. The convening was called to order by PSC Vice-Chairperson Nova P. Vicente, on behalf of PSC Chairperson Alicia M. Graciadas.
After the preliminaries, presentation on the provisional agenda was presented as follows: (i) Provincial Executive Order (EO) No. 099-2022, “An Order Reconstituting the Provincial Statistics Committee of the Province of Davao de Oro”; (ii) 33rd National Statistics Month (NSM) Calendar of Activities of Davao Region and Davao de Oro; (iii) discussion for the approval of the drafted PSC Davao de Oro Resolution No.03, series of 2022, “Enjoining Government Agencies, Local Government Units, Private Sectors, and the Academe to Support the Celebration of the 33rd National Statistics Month In Davao De Oro”, (iv) updates on the implementation of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), (v) updates on the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA); (vi) 15th National Convention on Statistics (NCS); and (vii) selection of Private Sector Representative.
Due to the changes of leadership in the offices of PPDO and PSA, the reconstitution of the PSC Davao de Oro members was passed and approved last 12 September 2022. Consequently, the Committee and their office/agency represented are invited to the month-long celebration of the 33rd NSM in October 2022, and in response, they deliberated and approved the PSC Davao de Oro Resolution No.03, series of 2022.
Business arising during the meeting revolved around the CBMS implementation in the province wherein the data processing phase will commence on October 2022. Concern on the availability of ICT equipment to be used during training was suggested to be coursed through the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) as they are part of the CBMS Council. In addition, operation for CBMS data collection is set to be completed by 06 October 2022 wherein the coverage of the CBMS-participating local government units (LGUs) is still below par. With this, PSA, as the lead agency, will advise the LGUs to work around the set timetable while raising this concern to the Community-Based Statistics Service (CBSS) as this is true for all municipalities with CBMS operations. Lastly, the Committee requested the participating PSA personnel to the 15th NCS to do an echo session on the discussed topics during the convention for information dissemination to the member agencies.
Upon adjournment of the meeting, they are also set to meet for the last quarter of the year for their fourth regular meeting.
