28 October 2022 – NABUNTURAN. In the delivery of quality statistics for the development of improved quality of life for all, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao de Oro Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) successfully conducted the Provincial Data Dissemination Forum on 2021 Full Year Official Poverty Statistics and 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) Available Variables.

Statistical Specialist II (SS II) Ronald R. Paid opened the forum by giving a short background on the data disseminated which were on poverty statistics that provides important information on poverty such as food and poverty thresholds and the subsistence and poverty incidences; and the 2020 CPH that collected basic information on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the entire population and housing of the Philippines. Additionally, PSA Regional Statistical Services Office XI (RSSO XI) Officer-In-Charge (OIC) – Regional Director Randolph Anthony B. Gales, represented by Ms. Baby Jean P. Alid, Accountant III of PSA RSSO XI, delivered his message of support to the conducted data dissemination forum that despite the pandemic, the office was able to deliver specifically in the generation of poverty statistics conducted in 2021 and the 2020 CPH.

OIC, Supervising Statistical Specialist Nova P. Vicente of PSA Davao de Oro, took the lead in the discussion of the 2021 full year official poverty statistics and the 2020 CPH urban population and age and sex distribution results. In addition, SS II Glofel F. Peregrino also presented the 2021 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) results during the forum.

In response, Research Division Chief Prime Enrique R. Rendon of the Provincial Planning and Development Office gave his reaction to the presented data. He expressed his gratitude in the disseminated data as they are useful in their evidence-based planning as well as in determining the success and gaps in the implementation of their programs to the locality.

An open forum was also facilitated wherein the questions revolved around the accessibility of data especially for smaller estimates for the poverty statistics and the urban population per barangay in every municipality.

The activity was attended by the provincial and municipal planning and development coordinators together with the partner national government agencies in the province. Moreover, it was supported by the Chief Statistical Specialists and representatives of the PSOs of PSA Davao Region.
