28 July 2023 - Philippine Statistics Office - Davao Occidental, represented by Supervising Statistical Specialist Munria L. Banto and COSW-Statistical Analyst Mae Leonacor Sibla, attended PMSMED Council’s MSMEs Forum in line with the MSME Week 2023 with the theme” “Upgrade, Upskill, and Upsize MSMEs: Empowering MSMEs for Sustainable Development. 
 

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Davao Occidental, as the secretariat of the council spearheaded the activity on 28 July 2023, at Municipal Covered Court, Malita, Davao Occidental.The event started with opening remarks from the new DTI-Davao Occidental Program Manager Art A. Hermoso. It was followed by messages from distinguished guests from the LGU. Present PMSMED Council members especially from National Agencies, also presented their Cooperative Plans and Programs to the participants. 

SSS Banto, in behalf of PSA also presented the programs and services that the agency provides within its statistical, civil registration and PhilSys operations in the province. 
 

The highlight of the activity is the awarding of the Top 3 Outstanding MSMEs back-to-back with Entrepreneurship Seminars and One-on-One Consultations. This is for recognition of the contribution of MSMEs in the development of local community likewise its vital role in nation building.

The event was essential to boost and empower the MSMEs in the province. This is in line with PMSMED Council’s goal in carrying out entrepreneurship development activities and promoting local economic growth.
