City of Mati, 02 October 2023- The much-anticipated National Statistics Month Celebration is set to begin with a spectacular grand opening ceremony, promising a month-long extravaganza of data-driven insights, analysis, and appreciation for the vital role of statistics in shaping our nation’s progress.

The National Statistics Month Celebration, an annual event, is organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), in collaboration with various government agencies, academic institutions, and statistical professionals across the nation. This year’s theme, “Accelerating Progress: Promoting Data and Statistics for Healthy Philippines,” highlights the importance of data in driving informed decision-making and recognizing the crucial role of data and statistics in improving the quality of health in the country.

The opening ceremony, held on 02 October 2023 at Honey’s Hotel, Matiao, City of Mati, featured distinguished speakers from the Provincial Planning Office and Provincial Health Office who delivered their insights and keynote address. Attendees from the different government offices also participated in the motorcade around the city in support of the celebration. They also gazed at the data exhibit showcasing the result of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) of the province.

In addition to the opening ceremony, the National Statistics Month celebration will feature a wide range of engaging activities throughout the month of October, including a symposium for senior high school students, statistical quizzes for PSA employees, students, and other stakeholders, and other statistical contests and endeavors.

As we embark on this year’s National Statistics Month Celebration, we invite all citizens, policymakers, researchers, and data enthusiasts to join us in celebrating the power of data and statistics in shaping a resilient and inclusive future for our nation.
