21-28 July 2022 – DAVAO DE ORO. In the conduct of the 2022 PSA-led Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Davao de Oro continued its capacity building to the CBMS-participating local government units (LGUs) of the province. Simultaneously, LGUs of Mabini, Mawab, New Bataan, and Pantukan conducted their Municipal Level Training in 2022 CBMS Data Collection last 21-28 July 2022 while LGU Maragusan had their training on a later date, 25 July to 02 August 2022. On the other hand, LGUs of Montevista and Nabunturan opted to have their training when their procured tablets for the CBMS operations are available as their procurement process is still on-going.

The PSA Davao de Oro CBMS trainers were deployed to the mentioned LGUs to facilitate the training. The office also imported trainers from the Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) XI, other Provincial Statistical Offices (PSO) of Davao Region, and from our partner agency in the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) since a total of 18 training classes were conducted.

The training was an eight-day activity wherein the first part of the discussions focused on the concepts and definition of each section in the CBMS Form 2 or the Household Profile Questionnaire (HPQ), which is the main form used for the CBMS data collection. Consequently, the participants were guided on the question and answer of the HPQ using the Paper and Pencil Interview (PAPI) and navigating them using the Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) in the CBMS Mobile Application. They were also instructed about the process of geotagging and with the usage of the other CBMS Forms before, during, and after enumeration activities. In application, a mock interview and field practice were also conducted and a plenary session also took place during the training.

The CBMS Core Team of each LGU hosted and organized their respective municipal level training. In addition, the participants of the training were the LGU hired CBMS field personnel who are the enumerators (ENs), team supervisors (TS), CBMS area supervisors (CAS), and the PSA hired Head CBMS area supervisor (HCAS) assigned to each municipality. Before the training ended, all CBMS field personnel had taken the Oath to Data Privacy as PSA adheres that all information provided are strictly confidential pursuant to Section 10 (Confidentiality of Information) of Republic Act (RA) No. 11315 or the CBMS Act and Section 8 (Confidentiality) of RA No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
