Davao Occidental’s economy grew by 4.7 percent in 2023. This represents an increase in the Gross Domestic Product from PhP 37.91 billion in 2022 to PhP 39.67 billion in 2023. The increase was mainly driven by Services which expanded by 10.5 percent.
Among the 16 industries, the fastest growths were observed among Services-related industry, with Transportation and storage registering the fastest at 21.6 percent, followed by Other Services with 16.9 percent, and Education with 12.5 percent. On the other hand, Agriculture, forestry, and fishing registered a decline of 9.6 percent. (Figure 1)
In 2023, Davao Occidental had a share of 3.9 percent to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Davao Region estimated at PhP 1.02 trillion. Meanwhile, City of Davao was the largest economy in the region with 52.3 percent share. (Figure 2)
