                Davao City | 11 March 2024. The Regional Community-Based Monitoring System Coordinating Board (RCCB) of Davao Region held its first convening at the Conference Room of Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA-RSSO XI), 4/F Ango Building, Cabaguio Avenue, Davao City. 


The member-agencies who constitute the RCCB was completely represented namely, the Philippine Statistics Authority XI (Chairperson), the Department of the Interior and Local Government XI (Vice-Chairperson), the Department of Information and Communications Technology XI, the Provincial Planning and Development Offices of Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental, and the Davao City Planning and Development Office. The convening aimed to discuss the preparations of the upcoming nationwide conduct of the integrated Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System or the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS. The 2024 POPCEN-CBMS was primarily designed to update the inventory of the population of the entire Philippines, while ensuring the updating of the social registries of both national government agencies and local government units. Aside from collecting data, the CBMS is intended to capture several factors that can be used for multi-dimensional poverty analysis, policy formulation, poverty alleviation, and economic development in cities and municipalities nationwide. 
 

The following topics were covered during the convening: Background and Legal Bases of the CBMS, the Objectives, and the Scope and Coverage of 2024 POPCEN-CBMS, Data Privacy and Confidentiality of Information, General Roles and Responsibilities of the CBMS Coordinating Boards, List of Possible Assistance to be Provided by the CCBs and the Timetable of Activities. After a fruitful discussion, a resolution to include the Provincial Offices of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Provincial Operations Offices of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the composition of the Provincial CBMS Coordinating Board (PCCB) was passed. OIC-Regional Director Randolph Anthony B. Gales, Chairperson of the RCCB XI, extended his gratitude to the participants for their presence, which served as a testament of their support for this nationwide undertaking.
