The Philippine Statistics Authority XI through the Statistical Operation and Coordination Division conducted a regional dissemination forum on the results of the 2014 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) and 2014 Survey of Tourism Establishments of the Philippines (STEP) on June 8, 2017 at Sunny Point Hotel, Ma-a Road, Davao City. The resource persons of the activity were the senior officials from RSSO XI and its Provincial Offices led by OIC-Regional Director Ruben D. Abaro , Jr., together with Ms. Judy L. Colaljo from the Department of Tourism XI and Ms. Marie Lou G. Magtrayo from the Department of Trade and Industry XI. It was participated by sample establishment’s representative, stakeholders both from the private and public sectors and the media. The forum was conducted to promote awareness to stakeholders and address survey related concerns of the representative sample establishments.
The ASPBI is one of the designated statistical activities of the PSA. It is important in collecting information on the levels, structure and trends of economic activities such as employment, compensation, income and such of the formal economy in order to generate a quantitative portrait of sectoral structure and trends at the national and regional levels.
The STEP aims to collect and generate information on the tourism characteristic establishments in the country. The survey will generate information on the availability of supply from tourism industries that will meet the consumption of goods and services of visitors.
