The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao de Oro commenced last 10 July 2023, its conduct of the 2023 Updating of List of Aquaculture Farms (ULAF).

The 2023 ULAF is a nationwide activity that aims to develop an updated statistical sampling frame containing a comprehensive list of aquaculture farms. The current sampling frame used for the quarterly aquaculture surveys was still based on the 2017 ULAF. As the PSA is currently engaged in improving the conduct of aquaculture surveys in the country, sampling frame updating is necessary to keep up with the fast-changing aquaculture sector before implementing the redesigned surveys. The updating and listing activity will cover all cities and municipalities in all provinces.

To ensure a seamless and efficient data collection process, five (5) hired Enumerators will ensure that all aquaculture farms in the province are completely visited. On top of this, they will also employ an integrated Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) and GIS mobile applications, advanced technologies that will aid in the listing's accurate and real-time recording of aquaculture farms and their geographic locations.

The PSA encourages everyone, especially the aquaculture farm operators, to extend their support and cooperation during the conduct of the 2023 ULAF. The PSA assures that all information gathered will be handled with utmost confidentiality. As per Article 55 of RA 10625, the collected data will not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation, or regulation.

The data collection runs until August 12, 2023.
