15 September 2022 – MONTEVISTA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao de Oro conducted the tree planting activity at Barangay Linoan, Montevista last 15 September 2022. The said activity was conducted as part of the celebration of the 9th founding anniversary of PSA. The event was participated by the regular and contract of service workers (COSWs) of the provincial office, headed by the new Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Supervising Statistical Specialist (SSS) Nova P. Vicente.

The annual tree planting activity is an initiative of the provincial office in helping to raise awareness to the public on the importance of planting and saving trees, expressing concern for the environment, and minimize the unfavorable effects of climate change. Planting trees can increase the resilience of ecosystems and buy people and governments time to adapt to changing conditions. Planting native seedlings in ecologically appropriate areas can also counteract soil and biodiversity loss and improve human well-being. The activity was made possible in coordination with the Municipal Environment and Natural Office (MENRO) of Montevista, which has sent personnel to guide and help in facilitating the participants.
