City of Mati, Davao Oriental - The Philippine Statistics Authority - Davao Oriental Provincial Statistical Office conducted the 2016 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) Respondents Forum and Data Dissemination on May 17, 2017 at Tita Venus Restaurant. The activity gathered various stakeholders with the aims of soliciting cooperation and support as well as to disseminate the result of the 2014 ASPBI.

In his message, OIC-PSO Rogelio T. Lebria thanked the stakeholders for their prompt response to the invitation and hoped to receive the accomplished questionnaires with accurate and complete entries. SOCD Chief Rosendo M. Aya-ay, in his message, emphasized the importance of the ASPBI survey in the generation of data to measure the performance of the Philippine economy. Statistical Specialist II Adeline G. Batucan of PSA-RSSO XI presented the results of the 2014 ASPBI and its rider survey, the 2014 Survey of Tourism Establishments in the Philippines. Thereafter, Statistical Specialist II of PSA-Davao Oriental Ronald M. Montesco discussed the background of the 2016 ASPBI. The different questionnaires for the survey were presented by Fe T. Antipuesto, Statistical Specialist II of PSA-Davao Oriental. She further elaborated on the data items to be collected. Atty. Kareen Silver P. Marzan-Manluyang, a practicing Private Lawyer discussed the Legal Authority of PSA to conduct the survey and the sanctions for non-compliance. She also emphasized on the confidentiality of information and encouraged the respondents to give truthful information. Part of the activity was an open forum wherein the respondents were given the chance to clarify issues and concerns about the survey. The open forum was facilitated by PSO Pepito D. Amoyen of PSA-Davao del Norte. The activity was ended with the closing message from Registration Officer II Wellino S. Go who encouraged the respondents to promptly submit the accomplished questionnaires on time.

The forum was attended by a total of 20 respondents from various sample establishments province-wide.
