City of Mati, Davao Oriental – The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) of Davao Oriental convened for its first quarter meeting for 2023 on 15 March 2023 at Honey’s Hotel and Restaurant, Matiao, City of Mati, Davao Oriental. The meeting was presided by Mr. Freddie C. Bendulo, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator and Chairperson of the PSC.
The meeting was attended by 17 out of the 25 member-agencies. Invited resource persons from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Council (PAFC), Provincial Cooperative Office (PCO), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) also attended the meeting. Honorable Rotchie M. Ravelo, the Chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Davao Oriental was also present during the meeting.
During the meeting, the following business matters were discussed: (1) Presentation on the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF), (2) Updates on the 2022/2023 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Nationwide Roll-out, (3) Updates on the Implementation of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), (4) Updates on the Compilation of Provincial Product Accounts (PPA).
Moreover, PSC Davao Oriental also passed and approved the following resolutions:
1. Resolution No. 1 series of 2023 entitled “Enjoining all Provincial Line Agencies, Local Government Units, Government-Owned and -Controlled Corporations, Government Financial Institutions, Academe, and Private Sectors in Davao Oriental to Support the 2022 Census of Agriculture And Fisheries” and
2. Resolution No. 2 series of 2023 entitled “Reiterating the Call for all Provincial Line Agencies, Local Government Units, Government-Owned and -Controlled Corporations, Academe, and Private Sectors in Davao Oriental to Cooperate and Support the Compilation of Provincial Product Accounts (PPA).”
The PSC is the highest policymaking body on statistical matters at the provincial level and shall formulate statistical policies designed to resolve local statistical issues.
