The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) proudly announced the launch of the Digital National ID and the National ID Check. These initiatives are set to transform service delivery, promote seamless processes, and significantly reduce the risk of identity fraud, offering greater security and convenience for all Filipinos.

The Digital National ID provides a digital counterpart to the physical National ID, ensuring that every registered person can access their identification easily and securely through a mobile application. This digital version simplifies processes requiring identity verification, such as accessing government services, conducting financial transactions, and engaging in various personal and professional activities. With this digital solution, Filipinos no longer need to carry their physical IDs at all times, offering unparalleled convenience and accessibility.

To enhance security and authenticity, the PSA, in collaboration with the Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs and the Department of Information and Communications Technology, developed the National ID Check. By scanning the QR code on the National ID with computers or smartphones connected to the internet, the National ID Check validates the holder's identity in real-time ensuring that the presented identification is authentic and unaltered.
