Occupied Housing Units in Municipality of B.E Dujali reached 5,367
Based on the 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN 2015), the number of occupied housing units in the Municipality of B.E Dujali as of August 1, 2015 was 5,367. This is 357 higher than the 5,010 occupied housing units reported on May 1, 2010 and 2,108 more than the 3,259 occupied housing units posted on May 1, 2000.
There are 101 households for every 100 occupied housing units
A total of 5,404 households and 23,615 persons resided in 5,367 housing units resulting to a ratio of 101 households for every 100 occupied housing units, and a ratio of 4.40 persons per occupied housing units. In 2010, there were 100 households per 100 occupied housing units, and 4.50 persons per occupied housing unit.
Majority were single-type houses
In 2015, single houses made up 88.2 percent of the total occupied housing units in Municipality of B.E Dujali. About 4.9 percent were of duplex type of buildings, while 6.5 percent were multi-unit residential buildings. By comparison, in 2010, single houses accounted for 90.1 percent of the total occupied housing units, 2.6 percent were duplex, and 6 percent were multi-unit residential buildings or houses.
27.0 percent of the occupied housing units had outer walls made of wood
In 2015, 27.0 percent of the occupied housing units in Municipality of B.E Dujali had outer walls made of bamboo/sawali/cogon/nipa, lower by 32.1 percent in 2010 and higher by 15.5 percent in 2010. The occupied housing units with outer wall of concrete/brick/stone were comprised of 26.7 percent, while 22.0 percent were made of half concrete/brick/tone and half wood.
83.3 percent of the housing units had roofs made of galvanized iron/aluminum
Eight in ten occupied housing units in the municipality had roofs made of galvanized iron or aluminum. This figure increased by 1.6 percentage points from 81.7 percent recorded in 2010 and by 2.1 percentage points in from 81.2 percent in 2000.
Majority of the households lived in house and lot that they owned
Of the total 5,404 households in 2015, 51.3 percent owned or were owner like of the house and lot they occupied. 23.1 percent of the households occupied their own-house rent-free lot with consent of owner, while 17.3 percent rent-free house and lot with consent of owner.
80 in every 100 households used electricity for lighting
In 2015, electricity was the main fuel used by households for lighting which accounted to 80.7 percent. The number of households using kerosene (gaas) accounted for about 9.6 percent, while 4.6 percent was using solar lamps.
Peddler was the most common source of water for drinking
About 65.6 percent of households acquired water for drinking from peddlers, while 13.6 percent were from bottled water. Moreover, the proportion of the households that acquired water from lake, river, rain and unprotected spring was 7.7 percent.
Three in every ten households obtained water for cooking from peddlers
About 33.6 percent of the total number of households in 2015 obtained water supply for cooking from peddlers. This was followed by households that used water from lake/river/rain and from dug well with 18.0 and 14.4 respectively.
