The Women and Men in Davao Region 2020 is the eight edition of this statistical handbook. In keeping with the previous publication, its preparation was intensely devoted to addressing the prevailing gender issues and concerns in Region XI. This handbook is thus an ardent attempt to provide a tool for promoting awareness on women issues, and for presenting facts towards the formulation of better gender and development (GAD) policies and interventions in Region XI and in its provinces and cities.

This handbook presents the latest available statistics on women and men in Region XI (Davao Region). Each chapter provides a brief discussion of the relevant issues, comparative time series data, charts, and analysis of key indicators. The provincial/city disaggregation of basic data in all chapters provides a deeper dimension to the statistical information presented. This serves to advocate the discussion and resolution of gender issues and concerns and promote the use of statistics at these levels. It also includes technical notes that provide definition to selected terminologies included in this handbook.
