The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office XI, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), will conduct the first national 2022 Women and ICT Development Index (WIDI) Survey. The enumeration will be conducted for 24 days from 31 January to 26 February 2022 in all provinces of the Region.
This survey aims to gather baseline data on women and ICT that will capture the situation of women focusing on aspects of the Digital Economy, ICT Access, and ICT Usage. The indicators will give a clearer picture of the extent of ICT use for education, employment, livelihood, and entrepreneurship among women and girls. The information to be collected will help the government in planning and making scientific and evidence-based policies of women’s path to empowerment using technologies and other appropriate interventions.
In view of this, PSA Davao Region enjoins everyone, especially the selected sample households in the provinces of the region, to support and cooperate in the conduct of the 2022 WIDI Survey. The participation of the household respondents in providing truthful, complete, and accurate information to the interviewers is crucial in the success of this undertaking. Rest assured that individual data furnished by the respondent shall be kept strictly confidential under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, which stipulates that individual data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of the PSA shall be considered privileged information and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any court proceeding.
