PSA- Davao del Norte Celebrates Women’s Month

“We Make Change Work for Women”

The theme: “We Make Change Work for Women” on celebrating the 2022 National Women’s Month highlights the empowerment of women as active contributors to and claimholders of development, promotes gender equality and looks forward to steps that must be taken to ensure progress in empowering women.

In line with the Women’s Month Celebration, the PSA- Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office (DavNor PSO) invited personnel from Davao del Norte Provincial Police Office on March 23, 2022, to conduct a Lecture on Republic Act 9262: Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, Republic Act 11313: Safe Space Act, and Skill Training on Basic Self Defense and Disarming Techniques.

The participants of the said lecture are the regular employees, Contract of Service Workers (COSW), and Statistical Researchers (SRs) of DavNor PSO. The activity aims to give enough information about the rights of every individual, most especially the women of this office. Moreover, the additional skills on Basic Self Defense will boost the confidence of each employee that can be used in times of emergency.

Activities like this are highly important to be enjoined with the different government agencies, where we can discuss gender issues to be resolved, and a reason to make “everyJuana” feel appreciated.
