“Effective procedures and measures can save lives”

Fire safety reduces the risk of injury and building damage that fires can cause. Developing and implementing fire safety protocols in the workplaceis vastly significant for it is not just required by law but it is crucial to everyone’s safety and to protect government properties.

To build a fire prevention plan, the PSA – Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office (DavNor PSO) conducted a Fire Prevention and Protection Seminar-Workshop in cooperation with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Davao del Norte on 17 June 2022. Fire Officer (FO) 3 Jeston B. Ronquillo, RN EMT headed the Team and assisted by FO 1 Ralph Jay M. Bañas and FO 1 Rhey S. Junio, the three were the plans and trainings in-charge in BFP Davao del Norte.

The participants of the said training are the regular employees, Contract of Service Workers (COSWs), and Statistical Researchers (SRs) of DavNor PSO. The seminar-training workshop educated the participants on how to act safely and reducing the risk of injury or loss of life in the event of blaze. The participants was also trained to do basic fire-fighting techniques to prevent small fires from becoming big emergencies.

Activities like this are highly important to be enjoined with the different government agencies and offices, for workers will have a proper training to eliminate fire hazards and respond quickly and efficiently on fire breakouts.
