“To react quickly and safely could save lives”

Bomb threats or suspicious items should always be taken seriously. Staying calm and indicating the desire to react quickly and safely on such scenarios could save lives.

In realizing the indicated desire due to increasing number of external clients, the Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office (DavNor PSO) invited personnel from Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit (EOD CU), thru the Provincial Commander of Davao del Norte Provincial Command of Philippine National Police. The active personnel of EOD CU act as resource speakers on Lecture on Bomb Awareness and Bomb Threat Management on 08 August 2022. The activity was done at the Training Room of DavNor PSO.

The participants of the lecture are the regular employees, Contract of Service Workers (COSWs), and Statistical Researchers (SRs) of DavNor PSO. The lecture is vital to orient the employees of DavNor PSO how to act quickly and safely manage the clients and area at the call of imminent danger on bomb threats.

Moreover, the lecturers provide knowledge and understanding about explosive devices, hazardous materials, and emergency procedures; such as search, evacuation and cooperation with public forces. Lectures and trainings like this are highly important to be
inculcated with the government agencies, since public safety is always on top priority in frontline offices, like DavNor PSO, in particular.
