The Philippine Statistics Authority – Davao del Norte is on track to finish it’s May to June 2022 data collection for the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) in the province. The data collection started on 02 May 2022, aiming to interview all 352 women from randomly selected households, and within selected households, with ages 15 to 49 years old.
The 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) is the 12th in a series of national demographic and health surveys conducted every five years since 1968, which aims to collect data on fertility, family planning, fertility preferences, childhood mortality, maternal and child health, knowledge and attitudes regarding HIV/AIDS, and violence against women.
The respondents will be asked questions about their background, the children they have given birth to, their knowledge and use of family planning methods, the health of their children, their awareness of HIV/AIDS and STIs, and other information that will be helpful to policy makers and program planners in health and family planning fields using the computer-assisted personal interview System (CAPI). The information which will be gathered in the survey will help the government monitor and evaluate population, health, and nutrition programs.
In line with this, PSA-Davao del Norte enjoins the support of Local Government Units and individuals in the survey to ensure accurate and complete collection of information needed in the conduct of 2022 NDHS.
