The PSA Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office (DavNor PSO) has received an invitation letter on the conduct of Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) mobile registration at the Indigenous Peoples’ (IPs) municipality of Talaingod, particularly at Sitio Nasilaban, Barangay Palma Gil, which was scheduled on 14-15 July 2022.

The event was planned by the Municipal Civil Registrar, as the Focal Person (PFP) of PhilSys of the municipality. DavNor PSO actively took part on the activity together with the different departments of LGU Talaingod, and as follows: Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), Municipal Health Office (MHO), staffs from Barangay Palma Gil and the team members of the Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (RPSB) assigned in the Sitio.

As part of the committed services, the PSA DavNor PSO sent its PhilSys Mobile Registration Team (PMRT) composed of two (2) Registration Kit Operators, one (1) Screener and PhilSys Office-Based Personnel. Considering that unregistered IP are included in PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP), its Coordinator go with the PMRT.

The activity conducted and the services given were received by the IP communities coming from seven (7) Sitios of Barangay Palma Gil. The registration area at Sitio Nasilaban is a four (4)-hour travel from the municipal proper of Municipality of Talaingod. The team arrived at noon of 14 July 2022. The travel was delayed by soil erosion caused by heavy rain, which made the road impassable. The clearing operation of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), made the Team reached the area using the Isuzu pick up vehicle of DavNor PSO, and successfully registered 92 registrants into the PhilSys.
A hard way to the Sitio, hampers travel-time
In lieu of the office’s social responsibility, DavNor PSO employees and staff also contributed and shared some goods for the aforesaid communities. This activity is a heartfelt social responsibility that DavNor PSO employees extended in a straightforward manner, especially to the Indigenous People (IP) community. Boxes of microfiber cloth, noodles, biscuits and sardines were given to the latter. As a result, DavNor PSO unwavering commitment on going above and beyond its mandates, pave the way for harnessing ties to public institutions as well as stakeholders; its wholesome: the needy external clients.
