On 23 September 2023, the “Bagong Pilipinas” governance brand launch in Davao de Oro was filled with love through the “Kasalan ng Bayan” ceremony held in Monkayo Gymnasium which tied 87 couples to the union of marriage. The ceremony was officiated by the Municipal Mayor of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Monkayo, Hon. Manuel E. Zamora, with the active participation of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), represented by Deputy National Statistician (DNS) Fred S. Sollesta of PSA Central Office, Officer-In-Charge Regional Director (OIC-RD) Randolph Anthony B. Gales of PSA Davao Region, and Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) of PSA Davao de Oro, Abraham Enrico E. Gulay, Jr., and spearheaded by the Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR) Estela P. But of the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Monkayo.

“Magagandang 87 couples na naging recipient ng isa sa pinakaimportanteng event sa kanilang buhay na ibinigay ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Monkayo, Davao de Oro. Malaking bagay ito para sa kanila, yung iba nagsama-sama na ng matagal na panahon, pero hindi pa kasal” (Eigthyseven (87) couples have become recipients of one of the most important events in their lives which was provided by LGU Monkayo, Davao de Oro. Others have been together for a long time but were not yet married). DNS Sollesta expressed his sentiments during the “Kasalan ng Bayan”.

Eighty-seven (87) couples exchanged their vows during the “Kasalan ng Bayan”, sealing their commitment to a lifetime of love and partnership. This heartwarming event symbolizes unity and community strength, embodying the essence of “Bagong Pilipinas”.

The “Bagong Pilipinas” was launch through the series and simultaneous conduct of Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) and this momentous event signifies a new era of hope, unity, and progress for the Davaoeños. The participation of PSA reflects their dedication to serve the community and actively participate in various significant events that will uplift the lives of Filipinos.
