City Government of Davao, through Executive Order No. 44 Series of 2021 has directed all City and National Government Offices including Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations to implement Skeleton Workforce arrangement in the light of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the City.

The year-on-year regional inflation of Davao Region rose to 4.9 percent in July 2021. The current inflation is significantly higher as compared to the same month of the previous year at 1.2 percent. An average of 89 deaths daily in Davao Region. Reported deaths in Davao Region in 2019 reached 32,384, an increase of 8.4 percent than the previous year’s 29,870 deaths. This is equivalent to a crude death rate (CDR) of 6.2 or about six (6) persons per thousand population. An average of 89 persons died daily in 2019, which translates to 4 deaths per hour. The number of deaths in Davao Region from 2010 to 2019 showed an increasing trend except in the years 2013 and 2014. The increase during the ten-year period is 36.6 percent, from 23,711 in 2010 to 32,384 in 2019 (Figure 1 and Table 1). One in three deaths recorded in City of Davao. Among the provinces and Highly Urbanized City (HUC) in Davao Region, City of Davao had the highest number of deaths in 2019, with 11,146 (34.4% of region’s total deaths), followed by Davao del Norte with 7,110 (22.0%) and Davao de Oro with 4,583 (14.2%).

An average of 240 registered babies born daily in the region. A total of 87,770 live births was registered in Davao Region in 2019 which is equivalent to a crude birth rate (CBR) of 16.8 or 17 births per thousand population. On the average, there were about 240 registered babies born daily or 10 babies per hour.
The number of registered live births from 2009 to 2016 showed an increasing trend, except in the year 2013. A decreasing trend was observed from 2016 to 2019 (Figure 1 and Table 1). In the region, more than half (52.4%) of the babies registered were males (46,001), while females comprised of 41,769 or 47.6 percent. This resulted to a sex ratio of 110 male babies per 100 female babies.
