RSC XI conducts First Quarter 2018 Meeting

The reconstituted Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) XI held its first quarter meeting for the year on 01 February 2018 at the Conference Hall, NEDA-RDC XI Bldg., Davao City.

The organizational meeting primarily aimed to discuss the crafting of the Regional Statistical Development Plan of Davao Region for 2018-2023.Other agenda includes the presentation and approval of 2018 RSC XI agenda forecast, discussion and approval of the Core Regional Indicators System of Region XI, presentation of the 2015 Poverty

PSA XI hosts Regional Indicators Assessment Workshop of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Cluster 3 (Mindanao Group)

The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA-RSSO) XI in coordination with Social Sector Statistics Service (SSSS) of PSA Central Office hosted the conduct of the Regional Indicators Assessment Workshop of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Cluster 3, the Mindanao Group, on December 5-6, 2017 at the Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City with PSA XI as the host region. It was in line with the objective to cascade the initiatives that have been done on SDGs at the national to the subnational level, particularly Regions IX, X, XI, XII, Caraga and ARMM. PSA RSSO XI organizes Regional Data Dissemination Forum on the 2015 POPCEN Socio-Demographic Characteristics

PSA RSSO XI conducted the Regional Data Dissemination on the 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN2015) Socio-Demographic Characteristics Results on October 30, 2017, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Pinnacle Hotel and Suites, Sta. Ana Avenue, Davao City. It was attended by national government agencies, local government units, academic institutions, private sectors, local media and non- government units. Selected PSA XI regional and provincial staff likewise attended the program.

Region XI culminates month-long 28th National Statistics Month celebration

The PSA-RSSO XI in cooperation with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas-Davao conducted a Closing Ceremony of the 28th National Statistics Month on October 27, 2017, 1:00 PM-5:00 PM at the Conference Room, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas-Davao, Quirino Ave., Davao City. The National Anthem and Invocation was led by SSII Marina P. Araneta, followed by a Welcome Remarks by BSP-Davao Director Sonia S. Delos Reyes.

Religions in Mindanao

As diverse as the Mindanao Island Group can be, the same is true for the religions embraced by its populace. The island registered a total population of 24,135,775 as of the 2015 Census of Population.

Roman Catholic and Islam are the two religions most widely spread across Mindanao. These two denominations together cover the religious affiliation of more than half of the islands’ population.

Around 57 percent of its citizens claim membership in the Roman Catholic Church and about 23.4 percent declared Islam as their religious preference.
